Description
This castle winds along the path that linked the Corno valley to the settlements of the plateau above and then descended the opposite slope (the Oblita Valley), avoiding the long bypass of the mountainous area. In the castle of Legone there are two distinct parts at different heights.
The highest is around the parish church and marked the ancient fork to Forsivo and Casali di Legogne. This latter road that led towards Montebufo was well travelled, as the presence of Sant’Anna, a typical road-side chapel, some aedicules and the remains of houses testify.
The other part lower down has been cut in half by a straight stretch of the road coming from Serravalle at the beginning of which lies a gate. Some 16th and 17th century homes stand out from the majority of typical, agricultural buildings thanks to their shape and their stone ornaments.
