Description
Serravalle is obviously a geographical place name that refers to the position of the town to the convergence with the Corno Valley.
The triangular-shaped castle dates back to the 13th or 14th century and stands at the beginning of the road from Cascia and appears to have been a post station.
The oldest nucleus on the left-hand side of the river Corno leans against the mountain, so that in many cases the buildings look uneven and are joined to the rocky wall. The buildings along the main road and those around the church of San Pietro are from a more recent era.
