The little village of Rocchetta is built around the Church of Santa Maria del Verde, below the castle to the east, alongside the road running at the foot of the mountain, which follows the old Via Casciana. It is the type of votive building often found alongside the roads, with a gabled façade and stone portal, and two quadrangular windows at head height.
