Description
The parish Church of San Martino, in the hamlet of Maltignano, displays a Roman gravestone in the left-hand external corner.
The portal is from the Renaissance period and belongs to an older building. Renovated inside in the 18th century, it contains two 17th-century paintings and a Madonna and Child (also known as the altar-piece of the Madonna dei Monti, from the homonymous brotherhood, which paid for the altar), and a painting on wood from the early 16th century from the ruined Church of San Valentino on the Acuti upland, by a painter who can be identified for his style as Cola dell’Armatrice. We can also find an Astylar cross made of embossed copper sheet, heavily decorated with 16th century images and ornaments.
