Description
Ocricchio, in the municipality of Norcia, is mentioned in documents from Farfa from the early Middle Ages as belonging to the gastaldato of Pontano.
The rural village is grouped compactly around a central space overlooked by the church of Santa Maria and a lordly palace.
The place on top of the hill which is still referred to today as the “Castle” is probably no more than a group of agricultural farmhouses, rather than the old castle itself. The remains of the castle of Belvedere stand close by. The building is in a precarious condition, but could still be rescued.
