Description

The place name, Logna, derives from the word “logne”, a 14th century word meaning “distance”. This is a settlement which currently appears as a relay village lying along the mountainous route to the right of the Corno, at the crossroads with one of the routes that linked the area around Cascia to Norcia.

Despite the current aspect of the settlement, the position and the compactness of some parts of the buildings suggest that the original, fortified structure was then reduced to being used for agricultural purposes.

Logna has kept its original features and there are many architectural and decorative elements: portals, windows, balconies and arches. Some houses still have their original decorations, such as a frescoed lunette and a portal dated 1559.
