Poggiodomo - Walk between the meadows

The walk starts from Piazza G. Marconi in Poggiodomo. Turn your back on the bell tower and walk up Via B.go S.Pietro to your left. You will come out opposite the 14th century church of S. Pietro, and from here turn right on to the SP 470. After approx. 100 m take the dirt track going uphill to the left (you’ll see a no entry road sign). Go uphill as far as the fork at the ruins of the church of S. Filomena. From here take the left-hand fork to the parish church of S. Lorenzo, built on the old mountain road. From the parish church turn left and you will come out on to the SP 470. Continue right towards Poggiodomo and after about 100 m from the fork turn left downhill (you’ll see a no entry for trucks sign). Continue downhill past the fountain and at the fork bear right uphill. At the next fork bear left and walk alongside the old town walls. Continue as far as the steps that will take you back inside the castle of Poggiodomo.
How to get there
Exit from the SS 209 at Borgo Cerreto and continue as far as Poggiodomo. Take the SS 471 from Cascia as far as Monteleone di S. and continue along the SP 470 to Poggiodomo
